The Board of Basketball Tasmania extends its sincere thanks to Ben Smith as he concludes his time as CEO after close to five years of dedicated leadership of Basketball Tasmania.
During his tenure, Ben has been deeply committed to delivering on the BTas Strategic Plan, with a strong focus on creating, ‘homes for basketball’ across the state. His advocacy for improved facilities has helped support the growth of the game at every level, from grassroots and community participation through to high performance and elite programs.
Ben has also been a visible and approachable leader, making himself available across the state, listening to the needs of our basketball community, and building strong, genuine connections along the way.
While we are sad to see Ben leave Tasmania, we are delighted for him as he returns to his home state and extended family to take on the role of CEO at Hockey South Australia, a testament to his leadership and capability.
Ben’s contribution to basketball in Tasmania will have a lasting impact. On behalf of the Board and the broader basketball community, we thank him for his service and wish him every success in this next chapter.
Go well Ben!
