Mid-Winter-Classic
The Mid-Winter Classic (formerly Launceston Classic) is Tasmania’s largest junior basketball event. Held on the King’s Birthday long weekend, the 2023 event featured 138, teams, 293 games and was conducted over 12 courts around Launceston. The event brings an estimated $500,000 plus in economic activity to the region with over 1300 players, referees, coaches and their families coming to Launceston for the weekend.
The Mid-Winter Classic 2024 will be played June 8 – June 9 2024.

The 2024 Mid-Winter Classic is being held at Elphin Sports Centre, St Patrick’s College, Deloraine Community Complex and Scotch Oakburn College (plus surrounding venues if required) on Saturday 8 June and Sunday 9 June (no games on Monday) 2024.
The price of entry is $300 – this includes team entry cost and door entry for the team. You must also supply a Referee for your games.
