The Hobart Chargers are Tasmania's Premier basketball team with the Women's and Men's teams competing in the NBL1 competition in 2020 and beyond. Playing their home games at the Derwent Entertainment Centre, the chargers represent a history of success, while aspiring for an even brighter future.
The Launceston Tornadoes Basketball Club Inc, a Women’s Basketball Club, was formed in 1993. It was formed to provide an opportunity for local female basketball players the opportunity to play in an elite league and to achieve their full potential. The club aims to inspire elite basketball with a community heart. The success of the club has allowed for a blossoming women's basketball community across Launceston and the state alike.
The North-West Thunder are the representative basketball team for the north-western region of Tasmania. Competing in the NBL1 the NW Thunder have a proud history and boast a strong core for their future. Playing games at the Oliver's Cafe Stadium in Ulverstone the NW Thunder showcase players from around the region, providing a platform for local juniors to aspire.
