At Basketball Tasmania, every child has the right to feel safe and supported. Their welfare is our top priority, and we strive to create a child-friendly environment.
We have a zero-tolerance policy for child abuse and treat all concerns seriously and confidentially, with dedicated Child Wellbeing and Safety Advisors. Our recruitment practices ensure all staff and volunteers are suitable to work with children.
We provide safe environments and support the inclusion of all children, respecting the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youth, those from diverse backgrounds, children with disabilities, and LGBTIQ individuals. We empower children to understand their rights and encourage their voices in club matters.
